Nat Geo Wild takes Eagle, Secret Garden

Nat Geo Wild has acquired a slate of natural history titles from German distributor ZDF Enterprises for the US and beyond.

In the US, Nat Geo Wild will air Secret Garden, which looks at the inner workings of a local garden, and The Eagle, which follows one bird’s journey from birth to adulthood.

Animal Record Breakers and Masters of the Wild have also been slated, while Deadly Game and Top Cats will premiere later this year.

Internationally, the shows will air on Nat Geo Wild across 162 countries, excluding Germany.

All programmes were made by German producer Doclights, known for its animal and natural history documentaries. Technology used in the films includes HD high-speed cameras, boroscope lenses, computer-controlled time-lapse and mini helicopters.

The pick-ups follow a similar deal between Nat Geo Wild and rival German distributor Studio Hamburg earlier this month.
