Nat Geo selects Delicacy Hunter for Asia

Delicacy Hunter: On the Silk Road is fronted by chef Jamie Bilbow

National Geographic in Asia has acquired cookery-themed docuseries Delicacy Hunter: On the Silk Road from Singapore-based distributor Bomanbridge Media.

The 6×30’ series follows British chef Jamie Bilbow on a gastronomic journey to discover Chinese food with a close link to the Silk Road – the most important overland trade route in China’s history, acting as the main corridor between the East and West for centuries.

National Geographic has picked up the first season to air on its Nat Geo People network, part of its international family of channels, from December.

The series is produced by Singapore-based prodco IFA Media and distributed internationally by Bomanbridge. The deal follows news of the launch of a second season of Delicacy Hunter, which sees Bilbow expand his adventuring from China to Europe.

Season two will follow Bilbow from remote regions of China to the heart of Europe as he learns about how the extensive network once created by commerce is still very much alive today through food exchange.
