The exec, who was previously chief operating officer, takes the position previously held by Angela Jennings, who left last year to launch a scripted-focused production outfit.

In her new capacity, MacLean will oversee all MEM operations, including content strategy and development, and will be responsible for the company’s strategic direction. She will work closely with founder and CEO Scott McGillivray.

The appointment comes as the company gears up for a busy 2026, with MEM saying its production slate is expanding by 50% this year. In addition to MasterChef Canada (CTV) and Canada’s Got Talent (Citytv), MEM also produces Renovation Resort (Home Network) and the upcoming three-part docuseries Narco Mennonites (Crave).

Before joining MEM in 2022, MacLean was a VP at Bell Media Studios, where she oversaw titles such as The Marilyn Dennis Show, Your Morning and The Social.

“Nanci has proven herself to be one of the most capable production execs in the country,” said McGillivray. “Her leadership acumen, organisational vision, fiscal shrewdness and fail-safe creative instincts make her the perfect person to take MEM to the next level.”

MacLean added: “As we face our biggest production year ever, MEM is well positioned to deliver on all fronts.”
