Under the exclusive deal, Browne will work with Muse’s unscripted team to develop and produce documentary series, with several doc features and series currently in the works including the recently announced CBC doc Running Smoke.

In addition to her work in print journalism, Browne has also worked on TV projects such as Witness (CBC), The Dark Side of Comedy (Vice TV) and Water is the New Fire (The Weather Network).

She also contributes longform investigative pieces for Canadian publication The Walrus and, earlier in her career, was a senior reporter at Vice, producing docs including Rat Park and Steel Town Down.

Meanwhile, Muse’s list of unscripted credits includes Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy Wars (Netflix), Gangland Chronicles (History), The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith (Amazon Prime) and For Heaven’s Sake (Paramount +).

“Rachel is one of Canada’s most respected investigative journalists, whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with for the past five years, I’m thrilled to be bringing her further into the fold,” said Jonas Prupas, MD of Muse’s operation in Ontario.
