MultiChoice adds BBC foursome

South African digital television platform MultiChoice has today added four BBC channels to its DSTV service: BBC Entertainment, BBC Lifestyle, BBC Knowledge and preschool service CBeebies.

BBC Entertainment will kick off with jurassic drama Primeval, BBC3 sitcom Gavin & Stacey, Robert Louis Stevenson adaptation Jekyll and Bafta-winning Life on Mars, while BBC Lifestyle will carry Grand Designs, The Baby Borrowers and How To Look Good Naked.

Factual channel BBC Knowledge’s grid holds shows such as Earth – The Power of the Planet, Sky1 series Ross Kemp on Gangs and new shows from investigative journalist Louis Theroux; while CBeebies will showcase The Koala Brothers and Charlie & Lola, among other titles.

The channels replace BBC Food and BBC Prime brands on DSTV. BBC Worldwide recently launched CBeebies and BBC Entertainment on Sky Mexico, following its deal with the platform’s parent Televisa, and previously saw its channels launch in Asia, Europe and Latin-America.
