MTVNI sells into East Europe

MTV Networks International has wrapped up a number of sales in Central and Eastern Europe ahead of regional television market Discop this month.

Hungary’s TV2 is to update its Nickelodeon-branded children’s block with preschool toon Ni-Hao Kai-Lan, marking the show’s debut on free-TV in the country; seasons three and four of Dora the Explorer; more episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants; and season three of Go! Diego, Go!

In Russia, 2×2 has taken new licences for Fatherhood, TV Funhouse and Human Giant, as well as renewing Striperella, Drawn Together and Celebrity Deathmatch.

Georgia’s Teleimedi has gone for El Tigre and Double Dare, while TC Seven JSC in Bulgaria has signed scripted live-action series iCarly.

Top Channel in Albania has acquired new episodes of SpongeBob, the Video Music Awards 2010 and The MTV EMAs 2010. ICTV in the Ukraine has re-licensed Rugrats and All Grown Up.

Finally, Israel’s DBS has picked up new episodes of dating show A Double Shot at Love with Tila Tequila.
