US television and film studio MRC, which has produced titles including Netflix’s Ozark, Peacock’s Poker Face and Amazon’s The Terminal List, has promoted chief business officer Scott Tenley to CEO.

In the new role, Tenley will oversee MRC’s television, film and unscripted divisions, in addition to strategic partnerships, finance and legal.

His promotion comes as company founders and co-CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu take up the roles of chairmen.

The implementation of the new executive structure comes seven months after MRC separated from former owner Valence Media, in a deal that was overseen by Tenley.

During his tenure with the company, Tenley has secured billions of dollars of equity and mezzanine capital with partners such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, WPP and Eldridge.

“Scott Tenley has a hand in nearly every single deal, every single accomplishment at MRC over the past 16 years,” said Wiczyk and Satchu in a statement.

“He has blazed trails in almost every facet of our business, from selling House of Cards to Netflix to setting up The Academy of Country Music Awards on Amazon Prime Video, to ever-evolving credit facilities, equity arrangements and beyond.”
