More Millionaire vets for Boxatricks

Former Celador execs Colman Hutchinson and Steve Springford are joining Who Wants to be a Millionaire? creators Michael Whitehill and David Briggs’ formats company.

Boxatricks, first mooted by Briggs at MipTV in 2011, specialises in game and quiz show formats and factual entertainment series.

Hutchinson, who takes the creative director role, was formerly head of entertainment at Hat Trick Productions and Celador Productions where he helped lead Millionaire to international success.

Steve Springford, who is MD, was previously director of production at Celador overseeing productions including Millionaire, The National Lottery: Winning Lines and The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna.

Whitehill and Briggs both have creative director roles.

Two other industry veterans, John Gough and Andrew Eborn, are also onboard as non-executive directors.
