More buyers acquire Euro royal drama Maxima from Beta Film

Maxima is described as a modern fairy tale

HBO Max in France, LGUPlus in South Korea, Dubai TV in the Middle East and North Africa and Nova in Greece and Cyprus have acquired Beta Film’s Maxima ahead of the launch of the show’s second season.

The royal drama is described as a modern fairy tale set in the French Riviera that details the romance of Argentina-born Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti and Willem-Alexander, who went on to become the king of the Netherlands.

Produced by Millstreet Films in coproduction with FBO and Beta Film for RTL Netherlands-owned streaming service Videoland, the show has previously been sold to buyers including HBO Max in Latin America, SBS in Australia, Rai in Italy, TV2 in Denmark and Atresmedia in Spain.

The second season, which sees the couple prepare for their wedding day in the early 2000s, will be released on Videoland on March 14, followed by other territories.
