Mnet, BritBox, BBCS among buyers taking Abacus Media content for Africa

In the Footsteps of Killers looks at famous unsolved murder cases

Broadcasters and platforms in Africa have acquired 250 hours of programming from UK-based distributor Abacus Media Rights (AMR).

Buyers including Mnet, BritBox, Arena Broadcasting, SuperSport Africa, CBS AMC and BBC Studios have acquired a range of scripted and unscripted shows titles for their African feeds.

These include high-end dramas Line of Duty and Maxine; topical biographical shows including Boris Becker: The Rise & Fall, Adele: 30 Greatest Moments and Elon Musk: Superhero or Supervillain; and lifestyle programming such as The Art of Architecture and Beautiful Interiors Northern Ireland.

Programming acquired also includes Williams & Mansell: Red 5, Brazil 2002, In the Footsteps of Killers, Bloodline Detectives, When Missing Turns to Murder, The Masked Singer and The Masked Dancer.

The deals were brokered by Ali Phelan, sales manager at AMR, which is part of Amcomri Entertainment.
