Miguel to Drop streetwear show on BBC3

Miguel has released four studio albums

UK online-only channel BBC3 has commissioned a streetwear competition series called The Drop, featuring singer, songwriter and producer Miguel as a mentor and judge.

Produced by Renowned Films, the 8×45’ series will see 10 creatives go head-to-head to win the chance to have their first clothing line stocked by a major UK retailer.

The Drop will be executive produced by Kate Maddigan and Renowned Films co-founders Max Welch, Tim Withers and Duane Jones.

Miguel will serve as consulting executive, as well as judge and mentor. Another mentor, a host and broadcast details will be announced in due course.

Miguel said: “I really hadn’t ever contemplated doing something like this, but when I met the Renowned team and discovered their work, I was immediately excited to get involved both on air and behind the scenes as a coproducer. I also love that this show will be UK-centric, as there are so many talented designers based in the territory who deserve recognition.”
