Meta’s long-serving VP for Asia-Pacific, Dan Neary, has announced he is stepping down after 12 years at the helm of the APAC arm of the social media platform.

Neary, based in Singapore, joined Meta in 2013 from Skype and was responsible for driving Meta’s commercial strategy and expansion through the Asia-Pacific region, overseeing the development of its presence in Australia, New Zealand, Greater China, Southeast Asia and other key Asian markets.

In a public LinkedIn post, Neary said: “After an incredible 12-year run at Meta, it’s time for me to say thank you and goodbye. I’ll be around for a few more months to get a successor in place and ensure a smooth transition as I hand over the reins.”

Neary did not disclose the reason for his exit but revealed that after appointing a successor he would take time out before his next phase.

“It’s hugely gratifying for me to look back at the small Singapore office where this journey started over a decade ago and see how far we have come together. As I’ve always said, our business is built on helping other businesses grow and succeed on our platform,” he said.
