Mercury says Hello to Octicorn

Hello, My Name is Octicorn

Canadian animation studio Mercury Filmworks has optioned children’s book Hello, My Name is Octicorn.

Written by Justin Lowe and Kevin Diller, the book tells the story of a funny, friendly character who is half-octopus, half-unicorn.

Despite liking the same kinds of things as everyone else, Octicorn has trouble making friends because he is so unusual. So, Octicorn spends his time figuring out how his many talents make him feel unique and appreciated by others.

Former Wildbrain, Spin Master and Netflix exec Josh Fisher (I Got a Rocket) will executive produce the animated series.

Heath Kenny, Mercury’s chief content officer, said: “We feel that in a time of emotional upheaval and unprecedented uncertainty, it is important to provide kids with content that helps them untangle their feelings associated with anxiety, celebrate their differences and laugh out loud. Octicorn fits this goal perfectly.”
