Mediaset España orders first international version of Got Talent: Fantasy League

Xuso Jones joins Paula Echevarría, Carlos Latre and Lorena Castell in the new format

Mediaset España is preparing Got Talent: Fantasy League, the first international adaptation of NBC’s Got Talent spin-off, in which the show’s judges also compete against each other.

The show, which premiered in the US in 2024, will be produced by Fremantle Spain and hosted by Santi Millán.

In Got Talent: Fantasy League, the judges not only evaluate the performances but also build their own teams of contestants by selecting artists who receive at least three favourable votes from the panel.

Once the teams are formed, the four judges face off in a second phase to determine who has assembled the strongest group of talent. The traditional Golden Passes will remain part of the show’s mechanics.

The Mediaset España version will feature Paula Echevarría, Carlos Latre and Lorena Castell on the panel, with Xuso Jones joining as a new judge.

According to Mediaset, the format will retain the multidisciplinary nature that has defined the franchise, combining music, dance, magic, comedy, acrobatics and other artistic disciplines.

Fremantle has produced the local version of Got Talent for Mediaset España since 2016, with spin-off Got Talent All Stars premiering in 2023.

The prodco is also experiencing a period of intense activity in Spain, where it has recently added two new adaptations: Japanese format Freeze for Atresmedia and music gameshow Hitster for pubcaster RTVE.

With this order, Mediaset España becomes the first broadcaster outside the US to bring its own version of Got Talent: Fantasy League to the screen.
