Mediaset España continues restructuring with María Zambrano to oversee reality

Spanish broadcaster Mediaset España has appointed María Zambrano, previously director of content at Banijay Iberia’s Zeppelin TV, as director of reality and dating formats.

Zambrano will participate in the development and implementation of “important free-to-air television formats” for Telecinco and Cuatro, the company’s main channels in Spain.

The appointment of Zambrano is part of the restructuring that is being promoted by the new CEO of the company, Alessandro Salem, after the departure of long-serving CEO Paolo Vasile at the end of 2022.

Zambrano joins the content production division now coordinated by Jaime Guerra under the oversight of Manuel Villanueva.

Recently, this same team was joined by Eduardo Escorial, as director of entertainment and current affairs.

Zambrano arrives at Mediaset España after 20 years working in entertainment at Zeppelin TV where she was director and executive producer of formats such as ¡Fama, a bailar!'(Cuatro and Movistar+) and Big Brother (Telecinco).

In addition, she has served as executive producer of Big Brother in Portugal and as a consultant for La casa de los Famosos for Telemundo in the US.
