Media IM scores Tatty & Misifu, Sunny Bunnies sales and introduces Zola & Friends

Sunny Bunnies is now airing in more than 160 countries

MIPCOM: US AVoD platform HappyKids and Canada’s Kidoodle.TV are among the first buyers of pre-school series Tatty & Misifu following deals secured by London-based distributor Media IM.

Media IM has sold all five seasons (57×5) of the series to Happy Kids, Kidoodle.TV and Janson Media for Prime Video. Produced by Barcelona’s Toy Town Kids, the 2D animation chronicles the adventures of a little witch and her faithful kitten companion in a world of fantasy and magic, with storylines that focus on problem solving, emotional learning and lessons about friendship, courage and creativity.

The distributor has also secured new deals for its pre-school title Sunny Bunnies, which is now in its ninth season. Ahead of Mipcom, deals were signed with Viaplay for seasons five to eight for Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland; Animeta (seasons one to six) for India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka; Sensical US (seasons one and two); PRO TV Romania (seasons one to six); Nelonen Finland (seasons five and six); and BabyFirst (seasons five and six) for the US and Latin America.

In addition, Spacetoons has acquired the L&M and events rights for MENA, with a view to producing Sunny Bunnies meet-and-greets and stage shows.

Launched in 2015 on YouTube, Sunny Bunnies is now airing in more than 160 countries. Season nine was released on YouTube in December 2024, generating nearly 12 million views and more than two million hours of watch time since launch.

Here in Cannes, Media IM is also showcasing its latest acquisition, 3D animated series Zola & Friends, coproduced by New Delhi-based Wordsword Creations and Ontario-based Double Dot Studios. The 25×11’ series, written by Nigerian screenwriter Omotunde Akiode and directed by Ghanian animation director Francis Y Brown, is set in Tanzania’s Serengeti nature reserve. Targeted at three- to six-year-olds, the action centres on a loveable white rhino called Zola, who lives in a treehouse with her chums Mosi the monkey, Kito the lizard and Shani the snake.
