In his new role, US-based Perale will work across development, partnerships and new business opportunities.

Following the appointment, Box to Box founders Gay-Rees and Martin will now serve as co-CEOs of the company, in addition to their roles as founders.

A highly experienced media executive, entrepreneur and investor, Perale brings a track record spanning strategy, production and deal-making across the global media landscape.

He previously co-founded the studio Wiip, which was sold to Korean conglomerate JTBC, and has held senior roles including head of strategy and corporate development at CAA, where he sat on the executive committee, and director of strategic development at Infront Sports & Media, which was sold to Wanda Group.

Box to Box said Perale will help to drive the “next phase of growth” at the company while supporting its pursuit of original commissions and brand collaborations.

UK-based Moore, meanwhile, has also joined the company as CFO and will oversee financial strategy as the business continues to scale internationally.

Moore brings extensive experience across the media and entertainment sector, most recently serving as CFO at Vice Media Group, where he played a key role in restructuring the business and securing new investment to support its recovery and growth. Prior to this, he held senior roles at ITV, Virgin Media and BskyB.

With offices in London, Paris, Mexico City, and LA, Box To Box specialises in high-end feature documentaries, documentary series and formatted factual entertainment.

As well as Netflix hit Drive to Survive, Box to Box has been behind series such as Face Off: Inside the NHL for Nike and Amazon’s Prime Video, Tour de France: Unchained for Netflix and Onside: Major League Soccer for Apple TV. It also made the feature documentaries Amy, Supersonic, Maradona and Senna.

The company recently partnered with Saul ‘Canelo’ Álvarez as it moves further into talent-led and brand-driven storytelling.

Perale said: “Box to Box has built something incredibly distinctive with a way of telling stories that genuinely connects with audiences around the world, and a brand that stands for quality. Those values remain at the core of what’s needed to succeed in a time of rapid change. I’m excited to build on that as we continue expanding the company and positioning it at the intersection of content, culture and brands.”
