Mariana Rios Sanchez upped to head of sales, development at Peninsula Television

Mariana Rios Sanchez has been promoted to the position of head of sales and development at Irish factual prodco Peninsula Television (Bloodline Detectives).

She adds the sales role to her existing brief as the Dublin indie’s development supervisor.

Working directly with chief executive David Harvey, Rio Sanchez is charged with bringing both roles closer together to create a more seamless offering for the company’s roster of clients.

Peninsula produces true crime docs such as Green Eyed Killers (52×60’) for Crime+Investigation UK, and genetic profiling series Bloodline Detectives (100×60’) for New York-based streamer FilmRise.

Other factual titles made by Peninsula include Bob Geldof on WB Yeats: A Fanatic Heart, for BBC Four and RTE One, and Mass Murder in the Sky – 9/11 for Channel 5.

Harvey said: “Mariana’s work on the development and production of many of our series and premium boxsets has been exceptional and has contributed directly to the success which has made us one of the biggest producers of true crime in the UK and Ireland.

“She understands how to work with our production partners and will be helping to drive our unique co-production and financing strategy.”
