Marc Anthony, VIS sign first-look deal

ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) has signed a first-look deal with singer-songwriter Marc Anthony’s production company Magnus Studios.

Anthony and Felipe Pimiento, chief operating officer at Magnus, will both act as executive producers on the slate of projects to be produced by the venture. Pimiento will also oversee the operations of the venture day to day for Magnus Studios.

Anthony has been recognised with several awards from the music industry and he won the 2020 Grammy for Best Tropical Album with his most recent production, Opus.

VIS is already developing the animated preschool series Gloria Wants to Know It All alongside Anthony and Magnus Studios, as well as Juan José Campanella’s Mundoloco Animation Studios and Lanugo Media.

The show tells the story of an eight-year-old alpaca from the big city and is a “vibrant example of the richness of Latin American culture,” VIS said.

“Their diversified portfolio of global brands checks every box for us and it provides us with the opportunity to continue to create content that has an appeal for audiences everywhere,” said Anthony of working with VIS.
