In her expanded role, Rankin will lead the company’s content commercialisation strategy, supporting growth across its scripted, unscripted, kids and family and formats businesses. She will be charged with establishing more commercial partnerships, pre-sales and coproductions at the same time as continuing to grow Marblemedia’s sister distribution company Distribution 360.

Rankin, who was formerly senior VP of rights and exec producer, joined Marblemedia in 2015 after holding leadership roles at DRG and Cineflix Rights.

During her time with the company, Rankin has led international growth across all of Marblemedia’s content verticals, been responsible for all aspects of sales, rights management, digital programming and distribution strategy. She also executive produced unscripted series, bringing her international insights to projects to ensure they would also resonate with global audiences.

Marblemedia said the promotion aligns with its 2023 strategic plan to increase its production output by elevating existing partnerships and establishing new ones.

Rankin will continue to report to co-founders and co-CEOs Mark Bishop and Matt Hornburg and will collaborate with department heads across scripted, unscripted and kids’ content.

Marblemedia’s credits include Blown Away (Netflix), Drink Masters (Netflix), All Round Champion (TVO, BYUtv) and Overlord & the Underwoods (CBC, Nickelodeon, BYUtv, Hulu), while it also handles distribution on third-party titles such as Super Simple Songs (Skyship Entertainment), Crime Stories (Partners in Motion), Bryan Inc (Si Entertainment) and mathXplosion (GAPC Entertainment).

“Diane has an incredible track record for developing and managing our strong and diverse slate of titles, while driving new exciting partners to our projects. The evidence of our success is in the work Diane has done with regards to delivering new financing opportunities for our content,” said Bishop.

“Diane is a key player in the critical success of Marblemedia and will play an integral part in the exciting new projects we will be announcing in the coming weeks and year ahead.”
