Malaysia’s Astro limbers up for youth physical reality competition show

Malaysian pay TV broadcaster Astro is gearing up to launch a physical reality competition show in which the country’s youth showcase their resilience, teamwork, and determination.

Jaguh Rakan Muda will feature a series of physical and mental tests that push Malaysian youths aged between 13 and 30 to their limits. The winning team will win a grand prize of RM100,000 (US$23,821).

Created in partnership with the country’s youth and sports ministry, the series launches on November 10 and will also be available to stream on Astro Go and sooka. It will be hosted by television personality and national athlete Mat Redho.

Astro said the series reflects the broadcaster’s commitment to homegrown content that celebrates the country’s youth by showcasing participants who “embody courage, teamwork, and determination to inspire and unite Malaysians.”
