Apple TV+ is partnering with women’s rights activist and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai on original programming across drama, comedy, documentaries, animation and kids’ series.

The multi-year deal will see Yousafzai’s new production company, Extracurricular, produce content across these genres for Apple TV+.

Yousafzai has already worked with Apple through her digital publication, Assembly, which is available on Apple News. Aimed at girls and young women, Assembly has published stories from young women in more than 100 countries and in over 20 languages.

Apple is also partner to Yousafzai’s non-profit organisation Malala Fund, which champions every girl’s right to free, quality and safe education.

“I believe in the power of stories to bring families together, forge friendships, build movements and inspire children to dream,” said Yousafzai.

“I couldn’t ask for a better partner than Apple to help bring these stories to life. I’m grateful for the opportunity to support women, young people, writers and artists in reflecting the world as they see it.”
