Luis Fernández replaces Beau Ferrari as chairman of NBCU Telemundo

Spanish media executive and journalist Luis Fernández has been named chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, replacing Beau Ferrari.

Ferrari, who held the role for the past three years, will become a senior advisor to César Conde, CEO of NBCUniversal News Group, for “strategic growth opportunities.”

Conde said: “Throughout his extraordinary career, Luis has has time and again shown visionary leadership, building and growing the most successful Spanish-language media organisations in the United States and overseas.”

Fernández returns to Telemundo after having been president of Telemundo’s news division between 2016 and 2021.

During his career, Fernández was CEO of Spain’s public radio and television corporation RTVE; president of Univision Entertainment and Univision Studios; and International CEO of the Beijing-based Real Madrid FC.

He also held management positions at Canal +, Telecinco, Cadena SER, Radio EL PAÍS and Cadena COPE.

“As our communities are increasingly playing a greater role in American culture, politics, sports and commerce, this is our time to meet the moment,” Fernández said.
