Love Nature, PBS, Arte order climate change wildlife series Evolution Earth

Passion Planet’s Evolution Earth looks at climate adaptation stories around the world

Blue Ant Media-owned wildlife and nature brand Love Nature, US pubcaster PBS and European broadcaster Arte have co-commissioned a documentary series about how various types of wildlife are adapting as Earth’s climate changes.

Evolution Earth (5×50’), created and produced by London-based Passion Planet, is described as a “thoughtful examination of adaptation stories that illustrate the rapid pace of change happening across Earth, while providing a look at nature’s ability to thrive.”

Filmed in extreme locations around the world, the series focuses on five themes: earth, islands, ice, heat and grasslands.

The project will premiere on Love Nature’s linear and streaming platforms, PBS in the US, Arte in France and Germany, and Sky Nature in the UK and Italy. Outside of the commissioning territories, Blue Ant International is overseeing pre-sales and licensing.

Passion Planet’s MD David Allen is directing the project, in addition to serving as producer alongside Oliver Twinch.

Love Nature’s James Manfull is executive producing for Love Nature. The executive in charge for PBS is VP of multiplatform programming and head of development Bill Gardner. Arte’s head of factual Hélène Coldefy is also executive producing.
