Lotte Lindegaard to be new permanent head of fiction at Denmark’s TV 2

Lotte Lindegaard will be TV 2’s new permanent head of fiction

TV 2 in Denmark has appointed its content director Lotte Lindegaard as the channel’s new permanent head of fiction.

Lindegaard had been doing the job on an interim basis, along with her content director role, since Mette Nelund left the broadcaster last year.

Lindegaard, who has been content director and member of the board of directors at TV 2 Denmark since 2021, has decided to leave the role of content director to take over the helm as head of fiction. She first joined the broadcaster in 2013.

“I have fought for public service for by far the largest part of my working life, and that fight has never been more important,” Lindegaard said.

“We need courageous media that ensures credible information and unites us around ‘everything we share’. Whether it’s the daily news, the agenda-setting documentary or the big entertainment show at the weekend. Together with the talented team at TV 2, we have succeeded in moving our content offering to the Danes, so that we have constantly balanced their needs with the task we carry out.

“Over the past few months, I have really found a spark in concentrating my efforts on the crucial culture-bearing area that is TV fiction. I have therefore decided that I want to be very close to the creative, the industry and the talent development of the future. And with the main lines of the 2030 strategy in place, the time is right.”

TV 2 says it will announce a new content director later today.
