London TV Screenings organisers set dates for next edition after bumper 2024

The London TV Screenings takes place in venues around the capital

The 2025 edition of the London TV Screenings will be held from February 24 to 28, as the event continues to grow in size and stature.

It will again see the four founding distributors, All3Media International, Banijay, Fremantle and ITV Studios, collaborate to showcase content for international buyers.

Attendees will be given exclusive first-looks at new scripted and unscripted programming from some of the world’s biggest studios and distributors.

Acquisition executives will also be able to hear from the talent behind shows, as well as take a ‘deep dive’ into content at bespoke showcases held at cinemas and screening rooms across central London.

This year’s London TV Screenings, held from February 26 to March 1, reported a 50% increase in buyer attendance. In total, more than 750 buyers visited the event, as well as 29 participating sales houses and studios, also an increase on 2023.

The 2024 edition saw an uptick in the number of international companies attending, as several US studios returned to third-party licensing.

Amongst those hosting programming premieres were Fox Entertainment Global, Paramount Global Content Distribution and Warner Bros International Television Production.

A London TV Screenings representative said: “The 2024 London TV Screenings were another resounding success, becoming bigger and more international than ever before. The free-to-attend, packed schedule seems to have resulted in larger teams of buyers coming to London so that nothing is missed, which only speaks to the quality of the programmes on offer, and the value the week delivers.

“We’re very excited about the prospect of 2025 and what we can accomplish in this now unmissable event in the industry calendar.”

The 2025 edition of the Screenings may find itself in competition with a rival event, with rumours circulating that MipTV will be relocated from Cannes to London early next year.

MipTV 2024 will go ahead as planned in Cannes next month but a report in Deadline said organiser RX, which also arranges October’s far bigger Mipcom market in the French resort, is in advanced talks to shift the event to London for 2025.

C21 reported how a plan by the France-based event company (fka Reed Midem) to move its April conference and marketplace to the UK met with a frosty reception among execs at this year’s London TV Screenings.
