London TV Screenings announce extra day for 2025 as it goes head-to-head with Mip London

The London TV Screenings 2024 saw a 50% increase in buyer attendance

The London TV Screenings (LTVS) has been expanded to six days, as rival event Mip London runs concurrently to LTVS for the first time.

Organisers of LTVS have confirmed that it will take place from Sunday February 23 to Friday February 28, 2025.

That’s one day more than the event earlier this year, with many suspecting the expansion is in response to Mipcom organisers RX’s decision to stage the inaugural Mip London from February 24-27.

RX has been at pains to stress that Mip London, which replaces the now defunct MipTV in Cannes, will be “complementary” rather than competitive to LTVS.

However, by lengthening this year’s LTVS, the four founding distributors – All3Media International, Banijay Entertainment, Fremantle and ITV Studios – appear to have taken steps to make sure their event isn’t upstaged.

LTVS ’25 will kick off with an early Sunday evening showcase by France’s StudioCanal at the Ham Yard Hotel on February 23.

The event will then continue through to Friday, with highlights including Banijay screenings on Wednesday at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly. A scripted and non-scripted showcase will be held in the morning, followed by formats in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Odeon Luxe venue in Leicester Square will host an ITV Studios festival on Wednesday, All3Media International on Thursday afternoon, and Fremantle on Friday morning.

Buyers will be shown first-look previews of content from over 30 companies across the week in locations around Leicester Square, Soho and Covent Garden.

A London TV Screenings spokesperson said: “The London TV Screenings has firmly cemented itself as the leading distribution event in the UK, with last year’s edition seeing a surge in attendance across the capital.

“To ensure nothing is missed, and to accommodate an ever-expanding schedule, we’re delighted to begin the 2025 Screenings a day earlier, meaning we continue to deliver a high-quality, unmissable and free-to-attend event to the international content community.”

Last year’s LTVS saw a 50% increase in buyer attendance, with 750 acquisition executives viewing titles from 29 participating distributors and studios.
