Locomotive Global Media adds three producers to work on drama, non-fiction

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment’s Indian prodco Locomotive Global Media has appointed three creative producers to work across its slate of films and series.

The Mumbai-based company has named Meghna Joshi as creative producer for non-fiction series and films, Yuvika Sharma as associate creative producer for series and Binitesh Baruri as creative producer for films.

In her 18-year career, creative director Joshi has contributed to shows such as Rising Star and Jhalak Dikhla Ja, plus the IIFA Awards.

Sharma, meanwhile, has over 13 years of experience across TV and OTT, working with companies including Sony Pictures Network, Discovery Communications, Zee TV, Eros International and ALT Balaji.

Baruri joins Locomotive with over 20 years’ experience as a writer and filmmaker. He most recently spent over three years at Whistling Woods International, collaborating with Saeed Mirza, Sudhir Mishra, Subhash Ghai and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The company said the hires would boost its ability to produce and develop films and mid-size fiction and non-fiction shows.

It is currently developing season two of its adaptation of US crime drama Ray Donovan, Rana Naidu, with Netflix in India.

Locomotive has also partnered with Applause Entertainment on international drama series Seeker, coproduced with Gurinder Chadha’s Bend It Films, and an episodic crime procedural coproduced with former Criminal Minds showrunner Simon Mirren.
