Locksmith Animation taps services of long-serving Aardman exec Robin Gladman

UK studio Locksmith Animation is working with children’s media veteran Robin Gladman, who left Wallace & Gromit prodco Aardman after over two decades at the end of 2024.

Gladman, who joined Aardman in 2003 as interactive content manager, spent 21 years at the prodco, holding various roles in in production and distribution, eventually becoming head of acquisitions in 2022.

In that role, he led global sales and partnerships for Aardman’s IP, including Shaun the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit, as well as acquisitions of third-party IP, such as Interstellar Ella and Pop Paper City. He also spearheaded the company’s YouTube and digital business.

Since leaving Aardman, Gladman has set up his own independent consultancy firm, working with companies such as Magic Light Pictures, the prodco behind The Gruffalo and Pip & Posy.

Locksmith Animation is behind 2021 feature film Ron’s Gone Wrong, distributed theatrically by 20th Century Studios and available on Disney+. Gladman will be consulting on the studio’s new projects.
