NBCUniversal International Networks and Direct to Consumer (NBCUIN & D2C) Latin America has acquired the rights to produce local-language adaptations of The Traitors in both Brazil and Mexico.

The deal with distributor All3Media International marks the first time the hit format has been licensed in Latin America.

Originally launched on RTL 4 in the Netherlands in 2021, the format was created by IDTV and has now been sold into 30 territories.

NBCUIN & D2C has previously acquired three seasons of the US version of The Traitors for its audience in Latin America.

Yari Torres, VP of Latin America and US Hispanic at All3Media International, said the “dramatic, addictive and immersive” Brazilian and Mexican versions of the show “will captivate audiences across the region – and beyond.”

Khris Lorenzo, senior VP of content and acquisitions, NBCUIN & D2C Latin America, added: “With Universal+ Latin America already home of the US version of The Traitors across the region, these new adaptations will deepen the impact of Universal+ with audiences across the region.”
