Load Studios lines up more series after landing Life’s a Glitch on Netflix

Life’s a Glitchv will launch on Netflix next month

German digital outfit Load Studios, set up by former Endemol Shine exec Georg Ramme, has established a dedicated originals and series division after completing its first show for Netflix.

Load! Originals is behind upcoming Netflix Germany comedy Life’s a Glitch, featuring YouTube star Julien Bam, which is due to debut on the platform worldwide on October 21.

The company’s newly established unit has a number of other titles in development, representing an evolution of the business while retaining a focus on digital storytelling, according to Ramme.

“We have a great launch project with our exceptional, high-quality Netflix series and we are looking forward to further exciting projects in the Load! Originals,” he said.

Life’s a Glitch was unveiled last year among a string of commissions signalling increased investment in Germany from the US streamer.

In the four-part comedy, YouTuber Bam wake up one morning in a parallel world where he is a fictional loser version of himself, while his best friend is suddenly a celebrated rap superstar. The pair battle their way through bizarre adventures in the hope of soon being themselves again.

Bam plays the lead role and was responsible for the script together with his brother Shawn Bu, Joon Kim, Joshua Euskirchen and Felix Charin.

Ramme is showrunner and executive producer and while Daniel Jacobs is the creative producer. The series is directed by Shawn Bu and is made in association with Raw Mind Pictures.
