Alongside his new position, Young, who reports to to Little Dot CEO Dan Jones, will retain his existing role as director of FAST and OTT platforms.

He will now also spearhead History Hit, the podcast, SVoD and content platform founded by historian Dan Snow and acquired by Little Dot Studios in 2020.

Young will also be tasked with managing FAST channels across numerous platforms in more than 20 territories and growing the advertising network that monetises partners’ FAST advertising inventory.

Young joined Little Dot in September 2020, when he was charged with overseeing the scheduling, operation, distribution and monetisation of FAST channels and AVoD.

His previous roles include a four-year stint at UK commercially funded pubcaster Channel 4 as corporate development manager.

History Hit is home to more than 500 original documentaries, interviews and films, as well as offering an archive of around 2,500 podcasts to subscribers.

The service is one of LDS’s eight owned and operated FAST channels available across all major streaming platforms.

Jones said: “Richard is uniquely suited to guide the team into an exciting new phase.”

Young added: “This is an incredible opportunity to work with the fantastic teams in place to shape and grow the businesses by leveraging our collective expertise to drive innovation and growth across SVoD, podcasting and content distribution.

“Together, we aim to captivate audiences with compelling historical narratives and commercial partnerships, while expanding our reach globally.”
