Lionsgate signs overall deal with Dahvi Waller start-up Federal Engineering

Lionsgate Television Group in the US has agreed an overall multi-year deal with Federal Engineering, the recently launched production company from Mrs America creator and showrunner Dahvi Waller.

The pact will see Federal Engineering develop and produce scripted series for Lionsgate.

Waller previously served as a writer and producer on Lionsgate’s hit series Mad Men for AMC, while her other credits include co-executive producer on the network’sHalt & Catch Fire.

Federal Engineering has also hired Irene Marquette, a former creative exec at US-based K&L Productions, as head of development. Marquette is also an executive producer on the upcoming film Del & Charna, directed by Kay Cannon and produced by Red Crown Productions.

“Dahvi is an exceptional talent and one of the best writer-producers in the business,” said Scott Herbst, head of scripted development and exec VP at Lionsgate TV.

In recent months, Lionsgate has signed a string of talent deals including an overall scripted content pact with Minx creator Ellen Rapoport; an unscripted first-look deal with Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg and Donnie Wahlberg’s Work Baby Productions; a first-look production agreement with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s production banner Le Train Train; and a first-look deal with Michael London’s Groundswell Productions.
