Lingo starts work on Stan and Lionsgate’s co-developed original drama Prosper

Richard Roxburgh and Rebecca Gibney star in Prosper

The first project co-developed under a pact between Australian streamer Stan and Lionsgate has gone into production in Sydney, with actors Richard Roxburgh and Rebecca Gibney confirmed as leads for the drama series, titled Prosper.

The Stan original is being produced by Lingo Pictures, recently acquired by ITV Studios, with major production investment from Screen Australia and the New South Wales government. Under the co-development agreement, Lionsgate will manage international sales.

A year ago, Stan and Lionsgate confirmed they would co-develop three projects: Prosper, Aquarius Films and Dollhouse Pictures’ drama The Geography of Friendship and outback-set crime drama Population 11 from Jungle Entertainment.

Stan said the projects would mark the beginning of an expanded partnership with Lionsgate and that work was underway to develop and commission more premium Stan Originals.

Prosper centres on the Quinns, the founding family behind one of Australia’s fastest growing megachurches, as it prepares to launch in the US.

The show was created by Matt Cameron and Jason Stephens and written by Cameron and Liz Doran, Louise Fox (Broadchurch) and Belinda Chayko.

Jennifer Leacey and Shaun Wilson will share directing duties and the series is being produced by Stephens and Andrew Walker. Helen Bowden will executive produce for Lingo.
