Lifted’s Angela Jain named ITV Studios’ first UK director of unscripted
ITV Studios, the production and distribution arm of the UK commercial broadcaster, has appointed former ITV2 and E4 commissioner Angela Jain as its first director of unscripted in the UK.

In this new role, Jain will have overall responsibility for the UK unscripted group, with the MDs of the 11 unscripted UK labels reporting directly to her.
ITVS’s format catalogue includes Love Island, The Chase, I’m a Celebrity…..Get Me Out of Here!, The Cabins and Come Dine with Me, as well as new and forthcoming shows including Walk The Line, Sitting on a Fortune and Moneyball.
Currently MD at ITVS-backed Lifted Entertainment, which produces I’m a Celebrity, Jain will take up the role in January 2022. She will oversee prodcos Potato, Possessed, Rollercoaster Television, Boom, Multistory Media, Twofour, 12 Yard Productions, The Garden, So Television, Lifted Entertainment and Oxford Scientific Films.
Jain will report to Julian Bellamy, MD of ITV Studios, and joins the UK management team. All the scripted labels within the UK business and ITV Studios Daytime continue to report directly to Bellamy as the overall MD for the UK. Her successor at Lifted will be named in due course.
Prior to joining Lifted, Jain spent a number of years in commissioning, as well as managing the ITV digital channels and running the acquisitions team.
During her time at ITV2, Angela acquired Family Guy and commissioned award-winning shows Plebs, The Big Reunion and Love Island.
She was also controller of Channel 4’s youth-skewing network E4, where she commissioned Misfits and The Inbetweeners. She has also worked as a commissioner at Channel 4 and Channel 5.
Her career started in television production where she worked in a number of genres, initially as a researcher at the BBC, before becoming a series producer for Channel 4.

“Even though I’m not going far, I do leave behind an incredible, kind and hardworking team at Lifted Entertainment. We have had the best of times and some difficult times too, but I will remember my time at Lifted Entertainment with great fondness because it was so creatively rewarding, interesting and fun”
