Lifetime wedded to Married At First Sight

US cable network Lifetime has commissioned two new seasons of the reality romance series Married At First Sight, which will return in 2020.

Married at First Sight

The series features single strangers who marry upon meeting at the altar for the very first time. The newlyweds are followed through the honeymoon and early weeks of their marriage before arriving at decision day, where each participating couple must decide whether to remain married, or file for divorce.

The new seasons will be the tenth and eleventh instalments of the show, and will include longer episodes, with each season consisting of 17 two-hour-long episodes. Season ten will take place in Washington DC, while New Orleans will be the home for season 11.

Married At First Sight is produced Kinetic Content, a Red Arrow Studios company. The show’s executive producers are Chris Coelen, Eric Detwiler, Ally Simpson, Jason Sands and Kelly Montalvo from Kinetic Content and Gena McCarthy from Lifetime.

The news follows the extension of Coelen’s contract as CEO of Kinetic Content in June and amid Red Arrow parent ProSiebenSat.1 exploring a sale of the company.
