US cablenet Lifetime has greenlit a new marriage-themed live event series from Californian prodco ThinkFactory Media.

My Great Big Live Wedding with David Tutera will see couples work with noted wedding planner Tutera to craft the nuptials of their dreams which will then be shown live on TV.

The eight-part series will join A+E Networks-owned Lifetime’s Real Love programming block on Tuesdays and is set to launch in early 2019.

Hatfield & McCoys creator ThinkFactory will produce the show, with president Adam Reed, executive VP of creative affairs Adam Freedman, CEO Leslie Greif and Tim Cohen-Laurie exec producing.

Tutera will also serve as exec producer, as will showrunner Dena Waxman and Lifetime’s Gena McCarthy, executive VP and head of unscripted programming, and James Bolosh. Joey Toth co-exec produces for ThinkFactory.

“We set out to turn the wedding genre on its head by doing something that audiences have never seen before. Inviting all of America to a new wedding each week to witness the most deserving engaged couples in the country be celebrated by David Tutera’s unique creative vision live. It will be an emotional and unrehearsed journey unlike any other,” said Reed.
