Lifetime lands in Lat Am

A+E Networks Latin America and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) are partnering to bring female-skewing lifestyle channel Lifetime to Latin America.

The channel will debut in July and Eduardo Ruiz, president and general manager of A+E Networks Latin America, will serve as its general manager.

Distributed by HBO Latin America Group, Lifetime will feature a three-part content strategy, focusing on scripted drama series such as Witches of East End, Devious Maids and Drop Dead Diva, alongside non-fiction series like Dance Moms and Preachers’ Daughters, as well as original movies.

“Lifetime is one of US cable’s most iconic brands, and our expectations are that the brand will perform well in Latin America,” said Ruiz.

A+E Networks Latin America is a joint venture between A+E Networks and Ole Communications and was formed in 1996. It currently operates History, A&E, BIO and H2 across the region.

Lifetime now reaches more than 170 million homes worldwide after expanding out from the US with launches in Canada,  the UK and South-East Asia in the past two years.
