Lauren Anderson, Ryan Pirozzi get new roles at Amazon AVoD service Freevee

Amazon has rejigged the management team at its AVoD service Freevee, with Lauren Anderson and Ryan Pirozzi and getting new roles.

Previously the co-heads of content and programming at Amazon Freevee, Pirozzi and Anderson will now split off into two separate roles, with Pirozzi overseeing the business side of the streaming service as head of Amazon Freevee.

Anderson, meanwhile, becomes head of AVoD original content and programming at Amazon Studios, which includes leading on all content and programming for Amazon Freevee (formerly IMDb TV).

Pirozzi has been with Amazon for over a decade, joining the e-commerce giant in 2011 as head of worldwide television and film licensing for Prime Video (then known as Amazon Instant Video), while Anderson joined Amazon Studios from NBC Entertainment in 2019.

Ad-supported free streaming service Freevee is building up a slate of original series, with ambitions to grow its offering by 70% in 2022, and earlier this year commissioned several scripted and factual series, including a second season of Bosch: Legacy. It is also working on remakes of hit UK series Friday Night Dinner and Inside No. 9.

The service is steadily growing its reach outside of North America, with a recent launch in Germany coming after it arrived in the UK last year.
