Lat Am partners land on Planet Ripos

Two Latin American partners have come onboard European-Chinese children’s animation coproduction Planet Ripos.

The 52×13’ eco-adventure series, aimed at older preschool kids, involves Castillan artist Joan Ripollés and Spanish prodcos Vidox Media and Genial Media, as well as French distributor Zylo. It is directed by Manuel Garcia of Vidox Media.

The partners agreed a coproduction deal with China Cultural Center and Chinese cultural association Artistic Dynasty Kayan last April.

This month they struck a second copro agreement with Argentinian movie producer Alejo Dominguez and private investor Roberto Dominguez.

The first 26 episodes will be ready by spring 2016, with a further 26 planned.

Both Genial Media and Zylo share worldwide distribution rights, although Zylo president Daniel Harroch said the project would consider international distribution and licensing deals with third parties. The copro is looking to secure its first broadcast deal.
