LA-based prodco Ventureland appoints producer Dan Janvey as head of film

LA-based studio Ventureland, one of the prodcos behind Netflix docuseries Beckham, has appointed producer Dan Janvey as head of film.

Dan Janvey

Janvey joins from Present Company, a Brooklyn-based prodco where he was a producer with credits including Oscar-winning Nomadland, Time and Beasts of the Southern Wild. Other credits include Janet Planet, A Love Song, Heart of a Dog, and Patti Cake$.

Janvey was also a founding member of the Department of Motion Pictures and was a manager and producer at Untitled Entertainment.

Ventureland was founded by Kerstin Emhoff, John Battsek and Ali Brown and specialises in the development of original entertainment across all media platforms, including theatrical, streaming and podcasts. It has offices in LA and London.

The addition of Janvey follows the appointment of Jesse Uram as VP of strategic partnerships, where he is focused on expanding the company’s relationships with partners across financial, creative, brand and distribution.

Ventureland is currently working on David Oyelowo-led scripted series Government Cheese for Apple TV+, as well as several to-be-announced feature documentaries currently in post-production.
