Kutcher throws down storytelling gauntlet

Amid all the excitement about Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men, news of his production company’s latest web series sneaked under the radar.

IdeaJam, from Kutcher’s Katalyst Media and Intel, brings together 48 filmmakers, content creators and social media experts and challenges them to “break the traditional bounds of storytelling.”

Katalyst has a history of producing for the web, having become the first company to launch a series on Facebook – a mockumentary called KatalystHQ based in the firm’s offices. IdeaJam is launching on YouTube, however.

Following intense speculation early on Friday that CBS and Warner Bros had signed Kutcher to replace Sheen on Two and a Half Men, confirmation came later in the day. “I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!” Kutcher said in statement.
