Kino Lorber lands Deutschland 83

Distributor Kino Lorber has licensed all US and Canadian home media and transactional VoD rights to German thriller series Deutschland 83.

The eight-parter, from FremantleMedia International (FMI)-owned UFA Film, deals with the threat of nuclear conflict in the 1980s and follows a 24-year-old East German man who is sent to West Germany to gather intelligence on the placement of nuclear missiles.

It was created by US novelist Anna Winger (This Must Be the Place) and producer Joerg Winger and commissioned by Germany’s RTL, as reported by C21, and is distributed by FMI. The show debuted on SundanceTV in the US yesterday.
