Kim Kardashian robbery docuseries leads Warner Bros Discovery UK & Ireland slate

The Kim Kardashian Heist centres on the robbery that took place at the Hôtel de Pourtalès

A true crime factual series about reality star Kim Kardashian’s experience of being robbed at gunpoint in Paris headlines a slate of new content announced today by Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) UK & Ireland.

The Kim Kardashian Heist (3×60’, working title), produced by WBD-owned Wall to Wall Media (Cook Once, Eat Twice), delves into the chain of events leading up to the 2016 crime, when crooks stole US$6m worth of jewellery from Kardashian in her hotel suite during Paris Fashion Week.

With access to the accused and police investigators, the docuseries follows the French trial and unravels the complex layers of a headlines-hitting heist.

WBD has also commissioned motoring format Guz Khan’s Custom Cars (w/t) for its Quest channel. Produced by Ricochet (The Repair Shop), the 8×60’ series sees the Man Like Mobeen star attempt to modify his own vehicle while also test-driving other car enthusiasts’ custom creations.

Zero Stars, meanwhile, is a travel format that features comedians Roisin Conaty and Sarah Pascoe. In the 8×60’ series, produced by CPL Productions (Married at First Sight), the pair stay and eat in hotels and restaurants that have attracted terrible online reviews.

Completing the line-up of new commissions is Rav Gill’s Chop House, a 10×30’ series for Food Network produced by Welsh prodco Yeti Television. It follows pastry chef and presenter Ravneet Gill and her husband Mattie as they take on their biggest challenge yet: opening their first restaurant, entirely self-funded and built from scratch.

WBD also confirmed it has renewed the following shows: James May’s Shed Load of Ideas (8×60’, Plum Pictures), Outback Opal Hunters (20×60’, Prospero), Vinnie Jones in the Country (6×60’, Objective Entertainment), Celebrity Help! My House is Haunted (6×60’, Back2back Productions), and Wheeler Dealers World Tour (10×60’, North One and Objective Entertainment).
