DreamWorks Animation SKG has confirmed the nomination of Kilar to the board, with a final decision to take place at the Shrek and Kung Fu Panda production company’s AGM on May 29.

Kilar and fellow board nominee Lucian Grainge, CEO of of Universal Music Group, are expected to be elected to the DreamWorks board to replace outgoing members Nathan Myhrvold, CEO of Intellectual Ventures, and Richard Sherman, CEO of The David Geffen Company.

DreamWorks CEO and director Jeffrey Katzenberg said Kilar “revolutionised how we consume content” during his five-year tenure at Hulu.

Kilar stepped down from Hulu in January, after which Andy Forssell was named interim CEO. Hulu is the subject of a takeover bid by The Chernin Group, though shareholders have reportedly said his US$500m offer was too low.
