KiKa pre-buys Zodiak Kids, Animoka preschool toon Mumfie

Preschool comedy series copro Mumfie

German free-to-air children’s channel KiKa, a joint venture between pubcasters ARD and ZDF, has pre-bought upcoming French-Italian animated series Mumfie.

Coproduced by Zodiak Kids Studio France and Italian animation studio Animoka alongside France Télévisions and Italy’s Rai, Mumfie (78×7’) is a preschool comedy series based on Thomas & Friends creator Britt Allcroft’s 1990s animated show Magic Adventures of Mumfie.

The adaptation follows optimistic young elephant Mumfie and his best friends Pinkey the flying pig and Jelly Bean the colour-changing jellyfish as they embark on daily adventures with their eclectic bunch of animal friends.

KiKa will premiere Mumfie in its 06:30 kids’ primetime slot. The series is directed by Daniel Dubuis and distributed globally by Banijay-owned Zodiak Kids.
