Kids business veteran John Reynolds sets up consultancy Flip Side Media to offer advice in a tough market

Former Jam Media executive John Reynolds has launched a consultancy to help children’s and family content companies secure financing, structure coproductions and develop sustainable business strategies.

Reynolds said he founded Dublin-based Flip Side Media (FSM) in response to an increasing number of requests for strategic guidance from studios, producers and investors struggling to navigate a challenging market.

Reynolds has worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, notably as chief commercial officer at Jam Media and executive producer at Irish prodco Sow You Entertainment, which he co-founded in 2020.

Reynolds, a board member for trade association Animation Ireland, previously served as group commercial director at French firm Millimages and also held senior roles at Cinar Entertainment, which later rebranded as Cookie Jar Entertainment, and New York’s Sunbow Entertainment.

FSM will work with clients to provide expertise in creative financing and copros, global distribution and commercial strategy, business development, IP development and brand building.

Reynolds said: “The response has been incredible. Studios and creators are struggling to secure financing and navigate the evolving market, and I’ve already been working with multiple companies to help them find the right funding and distribution strategies.

“It was clear there was a real need for hands-on commercial expertise, so launching Flip Side Media was the natural next step.

“The landscape is tougher than ever and companies need more than just great content – they need the right financing, partnerships and commercial strategies to make their projects viable. With Flip Side, I’m excited to provide the strategic support that so many companies are already asking for.”
