Keshet UK hires Christine Healy, preps local version of A Body That Works

A Body That Works airs on Keshet 12 in Israel

Keshet UK, the London-based arm of Israel’s Keshet International, has appointed Christine Healy as chief operating officer and confirmed the development of a local adaptation of A Body That Works.

Healy, whose credits include White House Farm, Catherine the Great and Doctor Foster, previously worked at indie Watford & Essex, New Pictures, Drama Republic, World Productions and BBC Studios.

In the newly created role at Keshet UK, she is tasked with expanding Keshet International’s scripted production footprint in the UK, building on recent productions including Suspicion on Apple TV+, as well as The A Word season three and its spin-off Ralph & Katie, both coproductions for BBC One.

Working out of Keshet UK’s offices in London, Healy reports to Keshet UK’s MD Jamie Munro, who is also co-MD of Greenbird, a UK-based indie incubator backed by Keshet International.

Healy’s initial focus will be working with the Keshet UK team to mine the Israeli company’s catalogue of IP to build a scripted slate of English-language adaptations specifically for the UK broadcast and streaming markets, while also developing original projects with international appeal.

The first title to be identified for development is the award-winning relationship drama A Body That Works, which airs in Israel on Keshet 12 and is distributed via Keshet International. Written by Shira Hadad (Wisdom of the Crowd) and Dror Mishani (The Missing File) and produced by Kuma Studios, the relationship drama sees a childless couple enlist the help of a surrogate.

“It is very exciting be tasked with strengthening the Keshet UK team and to boost the slate by developing projects like A Body That Works and others from the wonderful Keshet International catalogue alongside compelling original commissions,” said Healy.
