MIPCOM: Fox International Channels (FIC) has picked up the original version of Keshet International (KI)’s False Flag – the first time it has taken a foreign-language drama for its global networks.

FIC is already developing an English-language version of the programme in the US but has now taken exclusive rights to the Hebrew version for its channels across 127 countries worldwide.

French pay TV operator Canal+, meanwhile, acquired the drama ahead of Mipcom, taking exclusive rights for France including TV, home entertainment and on-demand.

The 8×45’ series, made by Tender Productions for Keshet Broadcasting, has been tipped as Keshet’s next Homeland.

The story follows five ordinary Israelis who wake up one morning to see themselves on TV, falsely accused of kidnapping a high-ranking Iranian minister.

In related news, KI and Argentina’s Telefe have cemented their formats co-development deal struck last week with the launch of an international production hub for the gameshow Boom!.

Hosted by Telefe, the Argentina-based studio will be offered as a worldwide production hub for all licensors of the show, with a full production crew included.

Telefe launched its version of Boom! on September 30, which pulled in a 32.9% share average to become the top show in its slot. The broadcaster also airs Keshet’s interactive talent format Rising Star, known locally as Elegidos. A second season is now on air and averaging a 34% share.
