Kedoo Entertainment to launch live-action spin-off of YouTube series Booba

The Booba Show aims to help kids develop social skills

Kids’ content company Kedoo Entertainment is launching a live-action edutainment spin-off to animated YouTube series Booba.

The Booba Show (4×15′) aims to help kids develop social skills as the titular character steps into the real world to interact with a child host and show children how to make friends. It will debut on YouTube in January.

The animated Booba series, which also streams on Netflix, is a non-dialogue preschool show produced by Kedoo’s production arm 3D Sparrow. Launched in 2014, it follows Booba as he explores the curiosities around him and finds adventure in his everyday surroundings.

Booba recently hit 20 billion views on YouTube and has 19 million subscribers. It is available on channels and networks in 45 countries. The 26×7′ fifth season is now available for TV distribution and will air next year on ITVX in the UK, Nine Network in Australia, Star Channel in Greece, Croatia’s RTL, Poland’s CDA Premium and Voyo in the CEE region.

Olivier Bernard, chief operating officer and co-founder of Kedoo, said: “In Booba we’ve seen how powerful YouTube can be for creating a hit global franchise and building a huge global community fanbase. The series now lives on multiple platforms around the world.”
